Theater Camp Gives Children Their
Start “On Broadway”

We also give aspiring actors a chance to be stars in our Theater Camp “On Broadway,” in our newly renovated theater, which happens to be on Broadway in Long Branch, that is. Instead of participating in typical camp activities, boys and girls take acting, singing and dance lessons, and cool off each day with instructional swim. The program, introduced six years ago, has more than doubled in size – going from 19 to 42 children and establishing itself in the theater community as the place performers want to be.

Campers Star In Professionally Produced Productions
With Live Orchestras

Each week, children rehearse for full-scale, Broadway quality musicals complete with live orchestras, authentic costumes, professionally choreographed, high-energy dance numbers and special effects that wow audiences. Shows are performed at the end of the season for the entire camp, parents and friends. Since opening, they have presented Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music, Grease and coming this summer Legally Blonde.

They Also Go To Broadway Shows
& Take Workshops With Stars

On Wednesday, campers not only learn more about acting by going to Tony winning musicals and plays. They hone their skills by taking workshops at New York City rehearsal studios with actors in the shows they see, including Anything Goes, Memphis, Billy Elliot, Spider-Man, In The Heights, Jersey Boys, Phantom of The Opera, Wicked, Mary Poppins, Lion King, Mama Mia, Legally Blonde, Shrek The Musical, Grease, Hairspray, Sister Act and 2012’s Nice Work If You Can Get It, and How To Succeed In Business with new Glee star along with Newsies, if extended.

Junior Theater Camp

Young aspiring actors step can out of the ensemble and take their place center stage in Seashore’s junior theater camp. Designed to give six to 10 year olds an opportunity to experience what it is like to be in leading roles, the off-shoot of Seashore’s acclaimed theater camp teaches participants the techniques to shine in shows like Aladdin, Schoolhouse Rock Live and this summer, Winnie The Pooh. Like senior theater campers, they go to Nice Work If You Can Get It, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Newsies, if extended, and take workshops with stars. They also see productions in local theaters and participate in traditional day camp activities, swim lessons and special events.

Veteran Director and Award-Winning Producer

Director/choreographer Renee Harrison Pincus created Seashore’s Theater Camp six years ago and was joined by award-winning director/producer Anthony Greco in 2011. The duo teaches children stage presence, character development and technical skills to bring down the house and leave audiences wanting more. They also have created a close company of 6-16 year old performers, who are as committed to this program and the arts as they are to each other. Their shows are so successful, at the end of each performance, children in the audience say, “That looks like fun. I want to be part of it.”
