Open to children who will turn four by December 31, Seashore Pre-Kindergarten continues to build on newly developed skills, helps young people get used to a structured school setting and makes sure they are well prepared for kindergarten.
A Special Pre-Kindergarten Campus Helps Children
Shoot For The Top
Like our three-year-olds, Seashore pre-kindergartners have their own campus, with spacious classrooms, computer lab, art loft, indoor heated pool, large gym and new playground.
The Challenging Curriculum Gives Children A Foundation They Can Count On
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is designed to get students used to a structured school setting, so they will be well prepared for kindergarten. The curriculum is advanced, challenging and fun. Children learn how to form upper and lower case letters, write their names, count to 20 and develop reading readiness, basic math and communication skills. They participate in science lab where they find out why seasons change and how to make snow, ice cream and magnet chains. They take a 180-day world tour to learn about social studies, geography and customs from other countries. And they are introduced to Spanish, make art projects, attend music class, visit the library and go on field trips to interesting places. Along with our standard program, we offer an accelerated curriculum in math and phonics for those who are ready for more.
Starting In Pre-Kindergarten, Students Take Computer Lab
To give pre-kindergartners a jump on the exciting world of technology, there is a multi-media program especially for this age group. The curriculum teaches young children how to navigate around the screen using the mouse – a process that is second nature to most adults, but actually requires a complex set of motor skills and eye-hand coordination. As students navigate through the programs, using personal headphones, they also develop lingual and auditory skills.
The Swim & Physical Education Program Is A Smash Hit
Pre-Kindergarteners take physical education, where coaches work with them to develop the balance, eye-hand coordination and gross motor skills needed to navigate obstacle courses and play sports such as hockey, basketball, soccer and tennis. And, twice a week, they have swim lessons in their indoor heated pool, where certified instructors teach them to swim completely on their own without flotation devices.
The Program Is So Popular ALL Four Pre-K Classes
Have Sold Out For The Last Two Years!
To accommodate the number of children, who enroll in this program, and keep class size small, we offer four sessions (full and half-day) Monday through Friday. Traditionally, the morning session is full by the middle of April.
