ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (GRADES 1-4)

At Seashore Elementary School,
We Give Students A Stronger Focus

Starting with full-day kindergarten and going through the fourth grade, our elementary school is designed for families who want a smaller class size and more progressive program than their town offers – at a price they can afford.

A High Quality Private Education
Without The High Price Tag

Seashore offers the benefits of a private education at a reasonably priced tuition. We have a 7 to 1 student-teacher ratio, extensive technology department, computer-assisted math and science labs, strong arts and athletic program and challenging curriculum that includes foreign language, advanced computer classes, yoga and swimming. By starting these units earlier than most schools, we can take students farther and give them an edge when they get to the upper grades.

We Make Sure Each Child
Is Keeping Up With The Pace

At this level, classroom instructors teach fundamental academic skills such as language arts, math, science and social studies, while specialists cover Spanish, computers, art, music, swimming and physical education. Academic excellence is a priority and each child is watched closely to ensure he or she fully understands the subject matter.

The Emphasis
Is On Developing Critical Thinking,
Technology & Communication Skills

Children do not just memorize facts and times tables. From a very young age, they learn by doing and are encouraged to think, to question and to apply their knowledge. By supplementing classroom instruction with hands-on experiments in our new science lab, we give students a chance to see how the applications they are learning really work and gain a better understanding of the weather, magnets, plants, minerals and motion. By making bubble gum, soda and hot air balloons, they are introduced to advanced concepts like chemistry and physics. And through special class projects like producing a school newspaper or running the school store, they develop organizational, writing and math abilities.

Students Learn Word Processing,
Desktop Publishing & Spreadsheets

First through fourth graders also acquire important computer skills they will use the rest of their lives. Our innovative, theme-based program goes way past keyboarding and teaches students how to use desktop publishing, word processing, graphics and spreadsheets to learn interesting things about wildlife, currency and even how to organize a World’s Fair.

An Interactive Student Web Site
Helps Children Master Technology
the Fun Way

One of the most popular parts of the program is www.seashorekids.com, our interactive web site, which gives students a chance to apply the skills they are taught in the classroom and master them at a faster rate. Children each get their own email address, so they can communicate with classmates, check homework assignments if they are absent, find out about upcoming school events and play challenging educational games. To encourage students to use technology as much as possible, there are computers in every classroom, a 13-unit computer lab and one-on-one instruction with students from High Tech High School.

We Also Help Form Positive Study Habits
Needed To Succeed In Intermediate School

Along with providing a solid educational foundation, we help students develop study habits, which will benefit them in later years. We teach them where to look for information, how to use it and how to communicate their findings effectively. As they advance through the program, they also learn how to organize their time and break projects into manageable tasks, so they will be prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in grades five through eight.
